“For the last nine years I have been treated for Cirrhosis of the liver, a condition that was only getting worse with the years. After being treated by many specialists I was finally told that I needed a liver transplant in order to save my life. In 2007 my condition became unmanageable so I was hospitalized and began preparing to die because we could not find a donor. In 2008 I was recommended to visit the Instituto Vision of Hope in Mexico and so I did. I embraced the various therapies and by September 2008 I had completed the 21-day program. To my surprise, the fluid that had been collecting in my belly disappeared, this time without draining it, and the jaundice that kept me looking very yellow also disappeared. I started recovering my strength to the point that I could walk around daily. I went back home and by the end of October I returned to the Institute for two more weeks of treatment. During this time my health improved even more. After returning home I went to the hospital for some tests. The doctors told me that all of the results were good. So instead of having to return for check-ups every month they began scheduling them 6 months apart. They also removed my name from the organ donor waiting list. Today in 2010 I am so thankful to God and the Vision of Hope team for this second chance to live.”
